AUTHORISED HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE TOURS AROUND EUROPE – SCOTLAND – WEST COAST, HIGHLANDS AND SKYE
18-24 MAY 2010
A six night, seven day tour which takes in all the scenery of the lochs, coast, glens and highlands of western Scotland as well as a two night stay on the stunning Isle of Skye. You'll be staying at quality hotels and each night dinner is included.
As the tour will start and finish at Gretna Green a small amount of rooms have been reserved for those of you who may want to stay at Gretna on Monday May 17th and/or Monday May 24th. Cost for this is an additional £40 per person, per night for bed & breakfast only (£55 single room).

Day 1. Tuesday May 18. Gretna Green to Ayr (approx. 100 miles).
We leave Gretna at 10.30am and travel along the Solway Firth and out to the west coast via Girvan and on to our first night's stop in Ayr. The hotel tonight is the four star Western House situated at the famous Ayr racecourse home of the Scottish Grand National, Gold Cup and Scottish Derby. A traditional Scottish dinner awaits you tonight.
Day 2. Wednesday May 19. Ayr to Oban (approx. 90 miles).
Leaving Ayr we continue north, sticking to the coastline until we reach Gourock where we take a ferry across the Firth of Clyde. From here we run along Loch Eck and Loch Fyne and onto the pretty old port of Inverrary. After a break here we move on to Oban and our next hotel. The Oban Caledonian is Oban's landmark building. This luxury 3 star hotel rises from the water's edge, commanding breathtaking views over the sheltered bay of Oban to the romantic hills and islands of Scotland's magnificent west coast.
Day 3. Thursday May 20. Oban to Isle of Skye (approx. 160 miles).
We leave Oban behind and continue north again along the coast & Loch Linnie to Mallaig where we catch a ferry to the dramatic Isle of Skye. For the next two night's you'll be staying at the Flodigarry House Hotel - formerly the family home of Flora MacDonald.
Day 4. Friday May 21. Take the day off or take a run out to the north of the island - visit Flora MacDonald's grave, the Museum of Highland Life or the Talisker whiskey distillery for a tour. Tonight we have a Ceilidh and what better way to finish our stay on Skye!
Day 5. Saturday May 22. Skye to Ballachulish (approx. 125 miles).
We leave the island over the Skye bridge and take the magnificent A87, passing Eilean Castle (where Highlander was filmed) and towards Loch Ness - a monster of a Loch! After not spotting Nessie we head south to Ballachulish and our hotel sitting on the shores of Loch Linnhe and Loch Leven and at the end of the dramatic Glencoe.
Day 6. Sunday May 23. Ballachulish to Loch Lomond (approx. 80 miles).
Through Glencoe and on to our final night stay overlooking Loch Lomond. The four star Lodge on Loch Lomond Hotel is set amidst some of Scotland's most idyllic and unspoilt areas and surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery. Each room overlooks the loch, has its own 2 person sauna and private balcony overlooking the loch.
Day 7. Monday May 24. Loch Lomond Gretna Green (approx. 110 miles).
We make our way back to the start point at Gretna where the tour finishes and you are free to make your way homeward. We are due to arrive in Gretna around 4.30pm so you may wish to stay another night at Gretna.
