AUTHORISED HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE TOURS AROUND EUROPE – DANISH & GERMAN BALTIC – 26 JUNE - 8 JULY 2011

New for 2011, an exciting tour and seaside holiday visiting some of the best places around the Danish & German Baltic. Each days riding is less than 170 miles allowing for a relaxing journey with plenty of time for sightseeing stops, coffee and lunches. We’ll also have a day off to explore Copenhagen, three nights at a seafront hotel on the holiday island of Rugen as well as two nights at another seafront hotel in Kiel. Altogether, 4 nights and 5 days in Denmark and 6 nights and 7 days on the German Baltic.

Day 1. Sunday June 26. Ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg in Denmark.
The ferry leaves Harwich at 5.15pm and a cabin is included for the overnight crossing.

Day 2. Monday June 27. Esbjerg to Kolding (approx. 80 miles).
Arriving in Denmark around 1.00pm we’ll have a run to Kolding, south Jutland’s biggest town full of night life and standing on the Kolding fjord. Dinner with wine is included tonight.

Day 3. Tuesday June 28. Kolding to Copenhagen (approx. 150 miles).
As we leave Kolding and head to Copenhagen we’ll visit Odense, the birthplace of Han Christian Anderson. We’ll take the 4 ½ mile long Storebaelt bridge to cross to Zealand, Denmark’s largest island and our two night stop in central Copenhagen. Tonight you will be free to eat out.

Day 4. Wednesday June 29. Day off to explore all that Copenhagen has to offer including the world famous Tivoli gardens a few minutes’ walk from the hotel or the now trendy redeveloped port area with its shops, bars and restaurants. Tonight you’ll be free to eat out.

Day 5. Thursday June 30. Copenhagen to Sassnitz & Binz (approx. 60 miles)
We leave Copenhagen and Denmark via the Oresund Bridge to Malmo in Sweden and on to Trellbourg where we’ll catch a lunchtime ferry for a four hour crossing over the Baltic to Sassnitz. Sassnitz sits on the old East German holiday island of Rugen and was considered the premier resort of the old eastern bloc country. Dinner with wine is included tonight.

Day 6 & 7. Friday July 1 & Saturday July 2. Two days to relax at the 4 star, seafront hotel in the town of Binz, Rugen’s main beach resort or if you prefer a short ride-out each day. You are free to eat out for the next two evenings.

Day 8. Sunday July 3. Binz to Warnemunde (approx. 120 miles).
We leave the island of Rugen and run along the coast to Warnemunde a pretty seaside town just north of Rostock. Tonight you are free to eat out.

Day 9. Monday July 4. Warnemunde to Kiel (approx. 140 miles).
Hugging the Baltic coast as much as we can until we arrive at Kiel where our hotel for the next two nights is once again on the seafront. Dinner with wine is included tonight.

Day 10. Tuesday July 5. Another day off to relax at the hotel or explore Kiel. Tonight you are free to eat out.

Day 11. Wednesday July 6. Kiel to Sonderborg. (approx. 100 miles).
Today we head back to Denmark and to Sonderborg and its picture post card location on the banks of the Alssund. Dinner with wine is included tonight.

Day 12. Thursday July 7. Sonderborg to Esbjerg (approx. 80 miles).
Our final days’ riding in Denmark as we make our way north via the exquisitely preserved town of Rise, the site of one of Denmark’s first churches which dates back to 856. From here it’s to Esbjerg and an evening ferry back to Harwich. The ferry departs at 6.45pm.

Day 13. Friday July 8. Arrive back in Harwich at approx. 12.00noon.
