AUTHORISED HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE TOURS AROUND EUROPE - BELGIAN ARDENNES - 26-30 MAY 2012

This tour takes you to the scenic, heavily forested region of the Belgian Ardennes and the riverside rides, picturesque countryside and quaint old villages, towns and Chateaux make this a truly pleasant run. Our hotel in Dinant will be our base for three nights and there will be short ride-outs the following days. If you don't fancy a ride then you can stay to explore Dinant, take a river boat cruise or visit the fortress perched high above the town. Dinant has plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants so you'll have plenty of choice for lunch and dinner. Our final night is in Arras...

Day 1. Saturday May 26. Calais to Dinant (approx. 190 miles).
We take an early morning ferry from Dover to Calais. After a brief 80 miles of peage motorway to clear the industrial north, we pick up the quiet back roads running into the Ardennes and the town of Dinant. Our hotel tonight sits in the centre of town on the riverside. You will be free to eat out in Dinant tonight.

Day 2. Sunday May 27. Ride out to Durbuy and return to Dinant (approx. 80 miles).
Today we take a scenic run through the hills and wooded back roads to Durbuy full of 17th & 18th century houses, lots of cafes and a Mecca for local bikers. After a leisurely stop we return via a different route back to Dinant where you'll be free to eat out tonight at one of the many riverside restaurants.

Day 3. Monday May 28. Ride out to Clervaux and return to Dinant (approx. 140 miles).
Another day of picturesque back roads as our second ride out visits St Hubert, the centre of the hunting region before making our way to Clervaux in Luxembourg for lunch. On returning to Dinant you'll once again be free to eat out.

Day 4. Tuesday May 29. Dinant to Arras (approx. 120 miles).
As we leave Dinant we follow the River Molignee as it winds its' way through a valley towards Beaumont. We cross back into France and take a scenic back road route until we reach Arras. The hotel is situated a short walk away from Arras' historic and beautiful cobbled squares where there is plenty of choice for dinner tonight.

Day 5. Wednesday May 30. Arras to Calais (approx. 70 miles).
Back roads once again, as we return to Calais for our afternoon crossing back to Dover.

Total mileage approx. 400 (600 with ride outs)

As we are three nights in one hotel and mileage to Arras & return to Calais is low there will be no support vehicle on this tour. Luggage must be carried on your bikes.
