Belgium Ardennes, Luxembourg and Mosel Valley - 12 - 16 July 2008 Flowers on bridge Church high on wooded cliff, blue sky Fantastic architecture...

This tour takes you to the scenic, heavily forested region of the Belgium Ardennes, the lesser-known, rugged region of Luxembourg's 'Petite Suisse', and the well-known wine region of the Mosel Valley in Germany. The riverside rides, picturesque countryside and quaint old villages, towns and Chateaux make this a truly pleasant run through four of our closest European neighbours.

Day 1. Saturday July 12. Calais to Dinant (approx. 190 miles).
We take an early morning ferry from Dover to Calais. After a brief 80 miles of peage motorway to clear the industrial north, we pick up the quiet back roads running into the Ardennes and the riverside town of Dinant. Our hotel tonight is on the outskirts of Dinant and is set in beautiful tranquil grounds. Dinner with wine is included tonight.

Day 2. Sunday July 13. Dinant to Vianden (approx.100 miles).
Today starts with a run through the heavily forested hills and valleys of the Ardennes as we head towards Luxembourg and the beautiful old town of Vianden. This relatively unknown town sits on the River Our and is overlooked by an imposing Chateau. Dinner with wine is included tonight.

Day 3. Monday July 14. Vianden to the Mosel Valley and return (approx. 120 miles).
This morning we enter into Germany and make a visit to the Harley dealer in Trier. Trier is Germany's oldest city and proudly stands on the Mosel River. From here we wind our way along the river for lunch in beautiful Bernkastel-Kues, one of the finest medieval towns in the region. After a leisurely lunch we make our return to Vianden where you are free to eat out tonight and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Day 4. Tuesday July 15 Vianden to Chamouille (approx. 170 miles).
We leave Luxembourg, crossing the southern Ardennes back into France and the rolling countryside of Picardy. Our final night is in Chamouille on the edge of the Champagne region and dinner with wine is included for tonight.

Day 5. Wednesday July 16. Chamouille to Calais (approx. 150 miles).
We return to Calais for our afternoon crossing back to Dover.
