AUTHORISED HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE TOURS AROUND EUROPE - FAAKER SEE & EUROPEAN BIKE WEEK 2009

Rest assured that this motorcycle trip promises interesting scenery, beautiful stops and places of interest including the rivers Meuse, Rhine, Mosel; Lake Konstanz; the regions of Alsace, Black Forest and the Austrian Tyrol; pretty villages and sleepy hamlets and finally great biking roads.

Day 1. Saturday September 5. Calais to Chamouille (approx. 150 miles)
After an early morning crossing from Dover to Calais we head off cross-country to the village of Chamouille and our first hotel. Set beside a lake it makes a pleasant and relaxed start to the tour. Dinner with wine is included tonight.

Day 2. Sunday September 6. Chamouille to Metz (approx. 155 miles)
Today's ride takes you east and to the centre of Metz, where you'll be free to eat out in the lovely old centre.

Day 3. Monday September 7. Metz to Freiburg (approx 160 miles)
Heading south now and to the French Mosel and the heights of Alsace. Then it's over the Rhine and into Germany and your hotel in the centre of Freiburg where you are free to eat out in one of the many restaurants.

Day 4. Tuesday September 8. Freiburg to Dornbirn (approx 130 miles)
Leaving Freiburg we head through the Black Forest and east to your first night in Austria. Today you have the fabulous scenery of the German Alpine region and views south to the Swiss Alps. Tonight's four-star, award winning 'designer' hotel is situated just outside Bregenz in the town of Dornbirn. Dinner with wine is included tonight.

Day 5. Wednesday September 9. Dornbirn to Innsbruck (approx 120 miles)
Today we start to see the famous Tyrol with its stunning mountains and valleys. Our stop for tonight is in charming Innsbruck where you'll be free to wander out to the old town for dinner.

Day 6. Thursday September 10. Innsbruck to Faaker See (approx 190 miles)
Today is another scenic route around the mountains of the Tyrol (with views over to the Italian Alps) taking you further into Austria and to your hotel for the next three nights. You'll be staying in Ossoach am Ossiacher See, which is only 14 miles from the rally site at Faaker See. Dinner is included for tonight.

Day 6. Friday September 11. A free day so you can go to the rally.

Day 7. Saturday September 12. A free day so you can go to the rally or join the famous lake ride.

Day 8. Sunday September 13. Faaker See to Kitzbühel (approx 150 miles)
We start our return journey and head to Kitzbühel via one of Europe's highest passes - the Grossenlocker. Tonight our hotel is the four-star Sporthotel-Reisch in the heart of Kitzbühel. Dinner with wine is included tonight.

Day 9. Monday September 14. Kitzbühel to Ulm (approx 190 miles)
We leave Austria today and return to Germany and its lovely sweepy roads. Tonight we are staying in the small historic town of Ulm, famous for having the tallest church spire in the world and being the birthplace of Albert Einstein. Tonight you are free to eat out and explore the old town centre.

Day 10. Tuesday September 15. Ulm to Saarbrucken (approx 190 miles)
From here its back to the Black Forest and north to the centre of Saarbrucken where your hotel is ideally placed in the heart of the city and the old centre is in easy walking distance from the hotel and a great place to eat out tonight.

Day 11. Wednesday September 16. Saarbrucken to Reims (approx 160 miles)
From Saarbrucken we head northwest until we reach our final hotel on the outskirts of Reims. Dinner with wine is included tonight. The hotel also has a swimming pool so you can relax before dinner.

Day 12. Thursday September 17. Reims to Calais (approx 170 miles)
More country roads and some motorway to get us back to Calais in time for a late afternoon crossing back to Dover.
